There were press conferences asking for information and a reward fund was set up, raising thousands of dollars to give to anyone who could provide helpful details. Gilleys attorney, Robert Perrine, said most of the evidence was not conclusive. Gilley was brought in to the Amarillo police station and had his mug shots taken.
